Suzanna Andrews is a contributing editor at Vanity Fair, where she writes features and investigative articles on business, politics, culture and crime. As a freelance journalist, she has written for New York Magazine, MORE, Bloomberg Businessweek, Reader’s Digest, The New York Times, GQ, Rolling Stone, and other publications. She has profiled such diverse figures as the Rev. Al Sharpton, Edward Snowden, US Senator Elizabeth Warren, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, and the multiple murderess Sante Kimes.
Her story about Arthur Miller’s Down syndrome son, whose existence Miller had concealed for nearly forty years, spurred a re-examination of the late playwright’s work and legacy. “Shattered Dynasty,” her story about the family feud that destroyed the Pritzker business empire, won the Front Page Award and was included in the 2004 edition of Best Business Stories of the Year. She was also the recipient of the Front Page Award for “Hostage to Fortune,” her article about Huntington Hartford, heir to the A&P supermarket fortune. Her article about the anti-fracking activist Sharon Wilson won the 2013 Deadline Club Award for Best Magazine Profile; her article on the charter school founder and activist Eva Moskowitz was a finalist for that award in 2014. Her article on Edward Snowden was the finalist for the 2014 Deadline investigative reporting award and won the 2014 Mirror Award for in-depth reporting.
A Vanity Fair contributor since 1999, Suzanna was also a contributing editor at MORE and New York, where she covered Wall Street. Before that, she was a senior writer at Manhattan, inc, and a writer and editor at Institutional Investor Magazine, covering banking and politics. She has also worked as a story consultant to ABC’s 20/20. She graduated from Vassar College, with a B.A. in history, and received her M.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. She lives in New York City.
